JULY 2001 DIRECTORS MEETING
Roll Call - Missing
were Active Bass, South Shore and Worcester County
Secretaries Report - Motion by American
Eagle, Seconded by City Bass to accept the minutes. Motion passed.
Treasurer Report - Tiny went over the
statement. Still $1360 outstanding from advertising on travel guide.
This will be looked into more. Motion by Yankee, seconded by Green
Water to accept the treasurers report and pay all bills. Motion
passed.
Tournament Report - Report on the PVA from
Tiny. The tournament was a great success with the help of Tiny and
American Eagle. Next year they hope to run a second tournament,
maybe in New Hampshire.
The Winni tournament had 66 boats!! Results are
on the web.
Open tournaments coming up are the Karl Kaprelian
and the Mike Yellick.
There was a posting on the New England Sportsman
web site about possible changes in New Hampshire tournaments, at
lakes that are on the borders. The meeting is 7/31 at the Concord
Fish and Game office at 7:30. This may affect spawn fishing.
Youth Report - August 5th is the youth event
at Webster. If anyone has donations, please contact Wayne Bacon.
The following clubs were recommended by Wayne to
send two extra members on their state team for youth activities they
performed: Tri-County, Yankee, Wildside, Green Water, Metrowest,
American Eagle. Motion by Green Water, seconded by City Bass to
allow these clubs to send the extra men. Motion Passed.
Conservation Report - No Report
Web site Report - Some problems being worked
out. It should be working fine soon.
Travel Guide Report - No Report
Newsletter Report - Two more were handed out.
Talk of software out there to help in the production of more travel
guides will be explored for the future.
State Championship Report - Entry with check
for fee and lunker due no later than August 7th(Must be postmarked
by that date!). $30 per day for the non-boaters payable to the
boater at the beginning of the day.
Banquet - Mike says it is all set, and will
be an Italian buffet.
Scholarship Report - Amanda Tucker (John's
daughter) was there at the beginning of the meeting to thank the
directors for her scholarship.
State Team Report – Don’t forget the
Regional Team September 1st open on Winni. Next month there will be
tickets for a raffle for an X15 Graph donated to the team by Charlie
Moore of Charlie Moore Outdoors on NESN.
Old Business - If you break a Federation Rule
in a Tournament, you will be disqualified...end of discussion!!!
There will be no more warnings
Brian Cozzilino gave the directors the info on
Mass owners of boats who register in New Hampshire. What happens in
they (Mass Police) take down your info, you get summons for a
hearing, and have to prove your primary use of the boat is in New
Hampshire. If guilty, you pay back taxes and penalties.
New Business - Letter from New Hampshire
concerning Squam parking. Make sure you all park legally in the new
areas.

Secretaries Report: Motion by City, seconded
by Chelmsford to wave the reading of the minutes and accept as
written. Motion passed
Treasurers Report: Tiny handed out his report
and read all out standing bills. Motion by Yankee, seconded by
Wildside to accept the report and pay all bills.
Tournament Report: Karl reported on the last
trail tournament at Hartford and talked about the TOC.
Youth Report: Wayne gave a report on our 13th
Annual Youth Tournament. He had 43 kids and told the Directors it
was a complete success. Wayne wanted to thank all of the sponsors
and the clubs and anglers that support the tournament.
Conservation: No report.
Web Report: No report.
Travel Guide: New Committee will be formed
next month. We are looking for volunteers.
Newsletter Report: Three newsletters were
handed out. Joe hopes to have two out for September meeting.
State Championship: The Directors were give
last minute details. All directions were in the newsletter printed
for the Championship.
Banquet Report: Mike Tamburello said every
thing is all set tickets will be printed. Date is November 24th,
the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Tickets will go on sale soon.
Scholarship Report: No report. Please keep
our 2000 scholarship winner David Wolf in your prayers. David was in
a very serious car accident.
State Team: Charlie Moore has donated a
Lowrance X15 with mapping unit to the State Team for them to raffle.
John Sampson will see to it that you can get tickets thru your
Directors or a State Team member. The X15 mapping sells for
$1199.99. Thanks to Charlie Moore and Charlie Moore Outdoors for
their support.
Old Business: Due to conflicts with the
current by-laws the bylaw proposed by Massmasters was given back to
their Director to be re-written so as not to conflict. You still
have the September meeting to turn in by-law changes.
New Business: There was much discussion about
the Federation trailer. After the first time the trailer was lent
out the Federation banner was missing. After the seconded time it
was lent out the tent has two sets of struts broken, the tent part
has a tear in it. Also one scale is broken and one of the Gator
Rules marked MASS BASS FEDERATION 2 is missing. There was discussion
about never lending the trailer out again. More to follow!!

February 2001 Directors Meeting

Secretaries Report: Motion by Wildside, seconded by American

Tournament Report: There was no Federation report but Ranger
has announced they will be having another millennium tournament.
Karl has the information on this tournament and will keep us
updated.
Youth Report: Wayne gave a repot on the Worcester and
Wilmington shows. Wayne thanked all the clubs that came to both
shows to run the Casting Kids contests. North East and Western Mass
Bass are running the Casting Kids at the Springfield shows.
Chelmsford is running a Casting Kids at MVP Sports in Chelmsford on
March 4th, 12 to 4 P.M. Wayne is still looking for names
from the clubs that ran Casting contests in the past year to remind
the winners about the finals.
Don’t forget the Casting Kids Finals at Marine USA March 11th.
There will be a Casting contest conducted by Charles River Bass
Anglers on Saturday March 10th. Yankee Bassmasters will
be running the finals on Sunday the 11th. Tri Valley will
be running the booth and kitchen on Saturday and Sunday of the
Marine USA open house with all kitchen proceeds going to the Youth
Fund.
Conservation Report: The Federation is trying to setup a
Boater Safety course for the members that need it for this year in
New Hampshire. It was also discussed that Massachusetts is going to
institute a required course in the next few years.
All Federation members should be aware of House bill 1072
proposed by Sen. Susan Fargo. It gives two of the six seats on the
Massachusetts Fish and Wildlife Board to animal protection
organization. (PETA types) We as individuals and an organization
need to be aware of this and need to contact our Legislatures and as
ask them not to support this bill.
Web Site Report: Dean is having trouble with the web site he
told the Directors it was caused by Nesportsman going to a new
server. As soon as the site is up Dean will update our web pages.
Travel Guide Report: The travel guide was given out at the
shows and the Directors were given copies for all their club
members.
Newsletter Report: Jim Marino resigned as newsletter editor.
If we have a volunteer for this position please contact Joe
McKinnon.
State Championship Report: We have been given a Hotel name to
us as headquarters’ for the 2001 Championship in Connecticut. The
hotel is East Hartford Hilton and the phone number is 860-528-9703.
Karl and Joe will be going to Hartford on March 17th to
look over the hotels and ramp area.
Banquet Report: None
Scholarship Report: There was a 50/50 raffle for the
scholarship fund.
State Team Report: John Sampson gave a brief report on State
Team happenings. There will be a Flea Market March 4th,
12 – 3 P.M. Don’t forget to sell your raffle tickets and turn in
all sold or unsold tickets to the State Team member that attends the
March 20th meeting.
Old Business: All clubs are reminded about the Mercury and
Plano deals. We will be collecting the monies and drawing for the
motors at the March meeting. If you have any questions call Joe @
781-373-1890.

Peter Vellucci is looking at our policy from BASS to make sure it
meets all of our insurance needs.

JANUARY 2001 MINUTES
Roll Call: Missing were: Active Bass, Bass
Master of New England (3rd), Berkshire County, Western Mass Bass

Crankers, and Berkshire County are no longer in the Federation.
Secretaries Report: Motion by City Bass,
seconded by Mass Bass Busters to wave the reading. Motion passed.
***Clubs turned in two copies of their rosters to
the secretary. A check was also given ($15 per person) for the
National Dues.

Joe passed out the 2001 Mass Bass By-laws, the
Plano Deal information and Mercury information. All orders for Plano
and Mercury are due by the March State meeting, with a check payable
to Mass Bass.
Treasurers Report: Dean submitted a balanced
budget proposal. Motion by Blackstone, seconded by American Eagle to
accept the budget. Motion Passed. Motion by Wildside, seconded by
City Bass to pay all bills. Motion passed
Tournament Report: No report at this time.
Youth: Wayne handed out information for the
Worcester Show. All clubs, not involved in other shows, were split
into two groups (morning and afternoon.). Charles River will run the
casting kids at Marine USA on March 10th. The finals will
be at Marine USA on March 11. We will need help to run these events.
Conservation Report: Dean reported the
Plymouth County Sportsmen league have begun an initiative to ban
bass fishing during the spawn. He has also talked to Rich Hartley,
who says Congamong has been slated for total sonar to look for
weeds. He will keep us informed. Joe filled in on the update from
the warm water species meeting at New Hampshire. 8 members of Mass
Bass were in attendance, and much of the discussion was good and
educational. Joe will email the directors the minutes of that
meeting.
Newsletter/Web: Dean and Jim will get the
travel guide out before the fishing show. Web addresses for
officers, directors and clubs have been updated. Please check for
accuracy.
Banquet Report: none
Scholarship: Brian Trefry volunteered to be
the Scholarship Chairperson. He will have more information at a
later time.
State Team: No Report
Old Business: 1. Joe informed the directors
of his meeting with the accountants for Mass Bass. We are in line
legally with our tax status of a 501C7 organization. Next year there
will be 1099s given out when appropriate. We should look at the
number of things we do like youth and ramp clean-ups to continue to
maintain this status.
The question of under 16 year olds being
allowed to fish was raised. Liability issues through BASS were the
reason why. Joe will check into this.
3. Motion by American Eagle, seconded by Barehill
to pay out 1999 State Team checks. Dean will issue these checks.
Motion passed with one opposed (Karl Veazie).
New Business:
1. Scott Smith said he needs volunteers for the
PVA tourney to be held in June.

JUNE 2001 Directors Meeting
Roll Call: Missing were Barehill, Bristol
County, Top Rods, Western Mass
Secretaries Report: Please note a change in
the minutes. The directions for the Championships have been changed.
The exit off of Rt. 91 is Jennings, not Pleasant. This will be in
the State Championship Report each month. Motion by City Bass,
seconded by North East, to accept Secretaries minutes with the above
change, as written. Motion passed.
Treasurer Report: Tiny handed out reports for
June. Both show breakdowns of what is happening in accounts. Joe
will check on advertising and who owes us money. Motion by Minute
Man, seconded by Wildside to accept treasurer’s report and pay all
bills. Motion Passed.
Tournament Report: Wattuppa was a good
tournament as was Barton’s Cove. Check out the website for a full
list of results.
PVA was a great success. There will be a
discussion next month on the success of this tourney. Great job Tiny
and Roger!!!
Boston Bass will hold the third annual Karl
Kaprelian on Winnipesaukee on July 21st, and Greenwater/Massmasters
will have their Pro-Am on Cochitcuate on the same day.
There were some openings on the tournament
committee. Joe recommended Bob Iodide and Jon Wheeler, and the
directors voted to put them on the committee. There are still two
openings. If you are interested, you must contact Joe.
The tournament committee also voted to not pick
up the Pro-Aim’s next year, because the committee is going down to
10 members, and they can not work it.
Youth Report: There was a thank you from
Tri-County for the Handi-Kids donation. August 5th is the
youth tournament on Webster. See the flyer on the web. Many have
donated tackle/equipment. KEEP IT COMING!!! Motion by Boston Bass,
seconded by American Eagle to use $514 from an old account to help
pay for launch fees for the Youth tournament. Motion passed.
Conservation Report
Bill 1072 has no activity yet, but will be voted
on soon. Make sure you are all writing or better yet calling your
reps.!!!! Bill 2022 is also still not settled yet. There will be
more soon on these.
Web Site Report: Web site problems should be
resolved.
Travel Guide Report: No Report
Newsletter Report: Another was handed out.
Motion by Massmasters, seconded by Wachusetts to buy a HP 1220 plus
extra cartridges with $600 from old account from Commerce Bank, for
the newsletter editor. Motion passed.
State Championship Report: Forms will be
available soon. They will be due with money by August 7th!!! NO
EXCEPTIONS!!!
Due date for extra members must be submitted to
Wayne Bacon before the July Federation meeting, so he can recommend
to the directors.
The Eastern Divisional will be at Champlain in
2003. Motion by Yankee, seconded by Chelmsford to have the State
Championships for 2002 at Champlain. Motion passed.
Directions to Connecticut River, Hartford. Take
Rt.84 to 91 North, then, take Exit 33(Jennings Street), take a right
then a right into ramp.

Banquet Report: No report

meeting next month to thank us for her scholarship.
State Team Report: On 9/1 there will be a
Regional Team open at Winnipesaukee, out of Ames Farm, 8 fish limit.

Old Business:
The Plano orders were handed out to those who
didn’t get them yet. Extra 3700 boxes were sold.
Motor Guide deal (2 for 1) was discussed. Motion
by City Bass, seconded by American Eagle to pay $575 from banquet
fund to pay for these motors. Motion passed.
New Business:
The SOS Sospenders life vests are considered a
type 2 from the Coast Guard, but MASS are not accepting the manual
inflatable. Please make sure you are safe!!!
Motion by Central Mass, seconded by Greenwater to
do the Worcester show next year and the following:
There will be casting kids on Saturday (2/2/2002)
and Sunday (2/3/2002). Clubs will be split up, and will have to send
four guys to work one of those days to be eligible for the
fish-offs. Motion passed unanimously.
Drawing for the Top 150 was done. Three guys were
chosen. Best of luck!!

Secretaries Report: Motion by Mass Bass Buddies, seconded by

Treasurer Report: Tiny handed out reports for Feb and March.
Both show breakdowns of what is happening in accounts. Question as
to payments for travel guide for $1330 and $700. More will come
later on this. Motion by Mystic, seconded by Minute Man to accept
treasurer’s report. Motion Passed
Tournament Report: All permits are in. Ranger Cup was
mentioned to guys on the State Team.
Youth Report: Wayne thanked all who helped out at Casting
Kids Finals. Special thanks to Charles River, Yankee, and especially
to Soupy Campbell who made t-shirts. Winners were Shawn Davis and
Robbie MacRae. Motion by Minute Man, seconded by American Eagle to
have shirts made for these kids. Motion Passed.

Thanks to Charlie Moore for his help at the Flea Market. All
tickets are due at the April meeting for the 50/50 raffle, whether
uses or not.
Old Business:
Clubs handed in Plano Deal info and Mercury Money.
Problem with Fish Offs 2000 still on going with two parties
involved in vehicle damage at parking lot. Motion by American
Eagle, seconded by Mystic Valley to have the two parties settle
this on their own. Motion Passed.
New Business: The Federation received a deal from Lowrance
Electronics. The Directors voted to accept the deal. Also we
received a new deal from Quantum/Motorguide, Zebco, Pennzoil and
Flowmaster for 2001. Gator Grip is now a Federation Sponsor, and
paperwork was handed out to the directors about getting Golden
Rules.
Our Insurance policy is good, but we should check on the trailer
insurance. People handling money should be bonded.
Letter from the Cub Scouts in Hudson requesting a donation for
their Fishing Derby. Motion by Mystic Valley, seconded by Wachusetts
to give them $300. Motion passed.
There was some discussion about other charities we donate to.
Motion by Bass Addicts, seconded by Bass Busters to donate to the
PVA $500, Karl Kaprelian Scholarship Fund $500, a matching donation
with Tri-County to send a kid to Handi-Camp for $450, and a $200
donation to the Dare Tournament run by North East. Motion by Bass
Addicts, seconded by Mass Bass Busters to give the donations to
these organizations. Motion Passed.

accept treasurer’s report and pay all bills. Motion Passed. Bills
paid were for the embroidery of the Casting Kids shirts, a deposit
for this year’s fish-offs, phone bills, and Soupy Campbell for the
newsletter printing.
The Federation Trail tournament on Squam Lake on
June 17th has been moved to Barton's Cove due to parking
problems.
Tournament Report: City Bass brought up
problem with their club holding a tournament the day before the
South Wattuppa trail tournament. They can’t per the by-law. They
will work out this problem, and maybe fish the day of the couple’s
tournament. Mike Keane will be asked also about the permit being
allowed for that day. The Tournament Committee will meet 1 hour
before the next month’s Federation Meeting.
Youth Report: Next month there will be a
flyer out to accept donations for the Federation Youth tournament. A
draft was submitted by Metro West, which outlined how clubs can
bring an extra two men to the fish-offs. Running a Casting Kids, or
other Youth Event with the proper documentation is necessary. See
Wayne Bacon with any questions. Motion by Blackstone, seconded by
Barehill to accept draft. Motion Passed.
Conservation Report
Dean spoke about the Mike Yellick Conservation
Land dedication, and how he has learned about cutbacks from the
Federal Government, that would help these lands.
All Federation members should be aware of House
bill 1072 proposed by Sen. Susan Fargo. It gives two of the six
seats on the Massachusetts Fish and Wildlife Board to animal
protection organization. (PETA types) We as individuals and an
organization need to be aware of this and need to contact our
Legislatures and as ask them not to support this bill. READ
THIS!!!! Meeting to discuss this will be on May 24th,
10-1 in room B-1 at the State House (park at the Boston Common
Parking Garage)
South Wattuppa Ramp is scheduled to get work,
maybe in 2002-2005.

Travel Guide Report: No Report
Newsletter Report: Kevin Braun is looking at
becoming the new editor. 3 newsletters were given out to all members
in the Federation, which had the Casting Kids and Tournament
information in them. More will be coming next month.
State Championship Report: Karl and Joe went
to Hartford. Ramp fee is $10. Take Rt.84 to 91 North, then, take
Exit 33(Pleasant Street), take a right then a right into ramp.
Off limits for Fish Offs will be Tuesday-Thursday
prior, with Friday being open until 5p.m. Contract was signed that
will give us food the night before, the launch area and the tents.

Banquet Report: No report
Scholarship Report: There was a 50/50 raffle
for the scholarship fund. One application for this scholarship
received. That application came from Amanda Tucker daughter of John
Tucker a member of Greenwater Wizards, motion by Barehill, seconded
by Minute Man to pay for the one scholarship. Motion Passed.
State Team Report: 1st tourney is
4/21 on Webster was good, with 48 boats there. Results on the
website. 5/12 on Winnipesaukee had 39 boats, with 4 fish for 17
pounds winning. On 9/1 there will be an open at Winnipesaukee, out
of Ames Farm, 8 fish limit.
All tickets for the 50/50 raffle were turned in,
with the drawing to be held at the South Wattuppa tournament.
Old Business: Reported by Joe from his trip
to the Nationals:
1. Rhode Island tournaments start times were
discussed. If a RI club is at your site, with or without a permit,
and running at more than 6 MPH before 7:00 am, let Joe know.
2. Vermont permits now have to go through the
Vermont Federation.
3. May 26th, couples tournament on
Wattuppa, sponsored by Top Rods.
4. Federation Tax I.D. number should ONLY be used
by the Federation, not clubs!!!!!!
5. 2000-2001 ESPN-BASS trail is out. Our format
for making the classic is the same.
6. We have three spots in the Top 150. Raffle at
the June Directors meeting for those slots. No limit on the number
of tickets you can get.
Bill Penney will not use the space to fish the
Eastern Invitational, but Jon Wheeler will be allowed too. Good
Luck John.
Joe discussed the sponsors that are in and out
of the federation.
Pennzoil has an attractive offer for
sponsorship. Buy a gallon of Pennzoil and check out their website.
No longer any cut-off for the nationals.
Websites need a National Link on them.
All checks now need to made out to ESPN-BASS.
As long as the boat you are on has insurance
you are covered for a tournament.
The Youth National Event will be in Ontario.

for the Federation. Motors to be used as spares for Championships
and other Federation tournaments.

Al Cappy brought up some items:
While on Mystics, was pulled over by State
Police who said Mass owners who register their boat in NH are
illegal. Brian Cozzalino will check on this.
Also, it was pointed out that the Mystic river
and Lake have a 10mph limit. Dean will check on this.
A potential new law in Maine that would require
every trailer to be inspected as it passes through the border with
a $100 fee. This will also be check into.
Scott Smith brought up the PVA boater list and
wanted to make conformations where necessary. Any members in your
clubs involved in this tournament should contact Scott.

Secretaries Report: Motion by Buzzards Luck,
seconded by Mass Bass Busters to except the minutes. Motion passed.
Bryan reminded everyone about the procedure for
turning in his or her club rosters and checks. This will be sent to
all directors as a separate document before the next meeting
Treasurer Report: Tiny gave the final balance
of $22,482.43. There is still $510 in tourney acct., and $917 in
Commerce acct. Bob gave a brief overview of the upcoming year. He
wants to run a preliminary budget that will be then finalized in
January. It was also motioned by Greenwater, seconded by River Rats
to keep the same state dues for next year, which are $30. Motion
passed. That is $30 for every guy in you club, even if they are in
more than one club. The National dues are still $15, and are a
one-time payment. The National checks are made out to: ESPN
Production, Inc – B.A.S.S.
Federation checks ($30 per member) should be made
out to: Mass Bass Federation
A heartfelt thanks to Tiny for doing a great job
with the Treasurers job this past year.

Tournament Report: Applications were sent out
for the State Tournaments. Clubs were given their packet from Karl
with their permits. New Hampshire now has some regulations regarding
running a weigh-in at State Ramps. Check out the MASS BASS website.
Also, clubs need to let the Vermont Federation President know about
their tournaments in Vermont and you should apply for permit so
other clubs know you are there and don’t schedule a tournament
there.
Youth Report: Wayne asked for all follow-ups
to Casting Kids to be done and to have yellow slips turned into him.
He will have the list which says which clubs will be working fishing
shows, and which clubs will be running or helping with the casting
kids with him next month.
Conservation Report: Joe nominated Paul
Simpson for Conservation Director. Paul did not say no fast enough,
so we voted him in. As they say the bus ran him over!! Actually he
agreed, and was unanimously voted in. Thank You Paul!
Web Site Report: The running of the Website
is now out for bid. Interested parties should submit to MASS BASS
what host, size, email account information etc. will be involved.
Also, the Newsletter on-line must be a part of it. Bring your bids
to the December meeting and if you want you can setup a laptop with
a site to show what you can do.
Federation Guide Report: We need club
write-ups for the travel guide. They should be short paragraphs
along the lines of what was put in last years guide. You must list
if you are looking for boaters or non-boater. If you do not tell us
you are looking for members you will be listed as looking for both
boaters and non-boaters. Sales are going very well for this guide.
Last year’s three mistakes were discussed and explained.
Newsletter Report: 1 more were
handed out. Joe is to be paid $599 for producing 9 newsletters for
2001. The next 3 for this year will be on-line.
State Championship Report: A
contract from Hampton Inn was read by Joe for the 2002 Championship
at Champlain. They will provide rooms at a rate of $94, with no more
than 4 per room. Call 1-802-654-7646 x161 and ask for Lainie LaCroix.
Motion by River Rats, seconded by Boston to go forward with this
contract. Motion passed.
. Banquet Report: There were 206 tickets
sold. Fantastic job done by all. Directions to the Marlboro Fish and
Game are available on the MASS BASS site. Cocktails from 5-6, dinner
at 6 PM sharp!! Raffle tickets are 1for $10, 3 for $25 or 15 for
$100. There are lots of good items to be won.
Scholarship Report: Motion by Worcester,
seconded by Wachusetts to rename one of the scholarships the Mike
Yellick Scholarship. Motion passed
State Team Report: Tickets were sold for X15
raffle to be drawn at the banquet. You must purchase tickets before
the banquet, as they cannot be bought at the banquet. If you want
tickets call John Sampson at 978-251-4268.
Old Business: Submissions for Club Awards
were taken. Nominations for Man Of The Year were as follows: Joe
McKinnon, Peter MacLellan, Bill Breach, Wayne Bacon, and Tiny
LaFontaine. A secret ballot was taken with the results coming at the
banquet.
NEW BUISNESS
Joe reminded clubs holding opens to make sure
they let him know ASAP so their flier can be put in the Guide. Also,
any club holding a Fishing Derby needs to get that to Joe so it can
be put in the Guide
It was reported that Joe Ayers has been sick and
may not be able to attend the banquet. He is a long time member of
the Federation supporting many things in the past years, and also
who makes each banquet a priority in terms of buying many raffle
tickets. We all wish him well!! We will save you your tickets Joe!
City Bass sadly reported they are breaking up and
will no longer be in the Federation. After that many clubs offered
to extend a welcome to any of their members looking for a new club.

Conservation Report: Report out of Manchaug
is that Zebra mussel infestation is being blamed on Tournament
Fisherman. No Zebra mussels have been found but we are still being
blamed for what has not happened yet. The name of the person from
Fish and Wildlife that spoke at the lake committee meeting is being
sought. More info will be gathered and we will look into how to
clean out boats and live wells.

NEW BUISNESS
Paul Simpson had many words about people’s
attitude towards Federation tourney. Specifically, those who made
the TOC who choose not to go, and that meant others who may have
wanted to go could not.
Worcester County left the fish-offs, and claim
because they missed the Saturday night meeting, they were
disqualified, therefore cannot be fined. Extensive discussion
resulted, and a motion by Charles River, seconded by Rod Jockeys to
suspend Worcester County until the fine is paid.
Motion failed 6-24 by secret ballot.
Motion by Blackstone Valley, seconded by Mystic
Valley to adjourn at 10:36. Motion passed

Fish-offs next year on the third week of August on Champlain (17th

Treasurer Report: Tiny handed out reports for April. Both
show breakdowns of what is happening in accounts. Question as to
payments for Mercury Deal. More will come later on this. Motion by
Wildside, seconded by American Eagle to accept treasurer’s report
and pay all bills. Motion Passed
Tournament Report: Open this Saturday at Webster, and
Saturday, May 12 at Winnipesaukee, 4 fish limit.
Youth Report: There is an event on May 6, from 9-12 at Horn
Pond sponsored by American Eagle. There was some discussion about
casting kids, youth events and extra members going to the fish-offs.
We will revisit this at the May meeting.

Also discussed was Plymouth Sportsmen’s Council trying to pass
a law that would prohibit fishing during the spawn. Dean will keep

Dean says the biologists are getting pressured from landowners
about stopping tourneys. Dean will keep us informed on this.
Dean told us that Jim Legacy, who is in charge of the Youth
angler Education from the Mass Fish and Game, is in need of money to
get equipment, especially for youth events.

tourney for the purposes of using the Federation tax i.d. #. This is
a rare thing and will not be the standard practice. Motion Passed.
