MAY 2002 MINUTES
Roll Call:
Secretaries Report: Motion by Fall River, seconded by Cape Cod to accept the minutes. Motion passed
Treasurers Report: Motion by Fall river, seconded by American Eagles to pay all bills. Motion passed. Motion by Fall River, Seconded by American Eagles to pay Joe $599 for travel guide work. Motion by Green Water, seconded by Buzzards to pay $30 for trailering the trailer.
Tournament Report: 59 boats were at Wattupa. Only three limits were caught. June 16th is Barton’s Cove. Payment for tourneys is as follows.(125(entry), 10(lunker), 10(ramp), 15(EPO), for a total of $160 per team.
Youth: July 13th at Marten’s Pond is a youth event if clubs need to do one for fish-off requirement. June 1st is an event at Spot pond in Stoneham.
Don’t forget August 4th at Lake Cochituite
Motion by American Eagle, seconded by Mass Bass Buddies to pay $300 to Youth National in Delaware. Motion Passed.
Conservation Report: Barehill ramp is going up to $35 to launch.
Many things going on in New Hampshire. May 22nd is a pre meeting for the May 28th meeting at Concord.
Wyman’s ramp closed because it is privately owned and owner does not want it open anymore.
FYI State funding to PAB is down to 60,000 form 1.5 million!!
Newsletter: 2 were handed out, and one is on-line
Web Site: Some discussion of needed updates on the website. Many changes will be coming soon.
Banquet Report: No Report
Scholarship: There were four applicants. It was decided to pay $500 out to each applicant for scholarship. It was further decided that all of these will be in Mike Yellick’s Name. Motion by Metrowest, seconded by Green Water to do the above mentioned. Motion Passed.
State Team: May at Winni was a great tourney. Raffle was held, and over $7000 was raised for the state team.
Old Business: Fall River asked about money owed by Foxwoods from the 2001 travel guide. Still no word on that.
1. Next month will be a raffle for one of three trips to the BASS Citgo tourneys. They are Harris Chain of Lakes(1/9-1/12), Lake Seminole(2/6-2/9), Toledo Bend(2/10-2/16), and Eufala(3/9-3/13).
2. Merc. Deal will be set up. Steve Marshall won the motor drawing. Items available including oil and props.
3. Plano Deal will be run by Pete De Moya. There will be a link on the website for members to see what is available. This will be cash only!
4. Eastern Expo will be Feb 6-9, 2003. Motion by American Eagle, seconded by North East to send 4 reps to casting kids. Motion passed.
5. Motion by Bass Addicts, seconded by South Shore for the removal of Ray Lentine from Federation membership, per violation of Mass Bass by-laws. Secret vote was taken per by-laws. 32 yes, and 3 no. Ray has been removed from membership and may not reapply for membership for two years and can only be accepted back by a 2/3 vote of the Directors.
New Business
Chelmsford let everyone know that on June 15th they are doing a benefit tourney on Shirley. The cost is 300 per club (which is 4 boats). The money benefits Camp Paul in Chelmsford. Contact Jerry Earl @ 1-978-251-9723
American Eagle will be running the PVA on June 8th at the Charles in Brighton. Boaters get there at 6:30. 8:00 start. Meet at North Eastern Sculling Ramp. Contact Roger Winn at our4winns@aol.com for more information.
