 BENEFIT SCHOLARSHIP

OPEN TEAM, BASS TOURNAMENT     

Saturday, July 22, 2006, Lake Winnipesaukee, NH.

Ames Farm, Lakeshore Dr. Rt. 11 Gilford, NH. 

The day started off cloudy, overcast, with a mild wind.  We had 49 boats with 98 anglers represented.  The competition was tough as we had some of the best Anglers in New England vying for the top spots.  

The weather changed a little after noon, we had a deluge, and it continued to pour for the rest of the day and the wind picked up considerably.  When we came in for the weigh-in the tent had blown down, as it was very windy and rainy.  The wind was blowing directly in the launch site which made the weigh-in difficult as the waves were coming over the back of the boats, but we worked together and persevered.   

When all was said and done there were a lot of huge bags brought to the scales, this was an eight fish limit and the team of Mathieu/Bucher took top honors with 23.59 lb. 7-LM & 1-SM.  2^nd place team Cresta/Fee had  8-LM for a total of 22.20 lb. 3^rd place was Snyde/Roux who had 8 SM for a total of 21.79.  This was an 8 fish limit tournament and there were a lot of big bags brought in.  Out of the 40 teams weighing in there where 37 limits.  Big LM was the team of Martineau/G.Kaprelian with 4.88 lb, Big SM was the team of Rivet/Derosier with 3.99 lb. 

We also had good representation from quite a few of the Pro Staff members from our various sponsors.  We had a variety of sponsorship and a lot of great door prizes were given out.  We would like to thank our sponsors for their generous donations, and we encouraged our participants to avail themselves of their services.  Our Sponsors are:  Hookerz Tackle Ultra sharp terminal tackle, Don Kennett Inc. Auto Supplies and equipment, Northern Bass Supply, Poor Boyz Inc. Tournament proven bait attractant, Shimano/Pradco/Mark Burgess Pro Angler,  DeVA Systems Group IT, Irwin Marine,  AMBUSH Lures Catching Fish of Guard.  Last but not least Massbass Federation  ( For the use of their equipment) 

This was a benefit tournament 80 % of the monies collected from registration was paid out for prize money, the other 20 % plus raffle money went to the Karl Kaprelian scholarship fund. Nine places were paid out plus Lunker Largemouth and Smallmouth. 

The members of Boston Bass Anglers are grateful to be able to put on this annual event in Karl’s memory, as he was a cherished member of Boston Bass Anglers. The Kaprelian clan was well represented on the water with the patriarch Alan paving the way for the family.  We hope all the anglers enjoyed the day and had a good time.  We are looking forward to seeing you again next year.
