2007 John’s Pond Junior Tournament Saturday 14th 2007
The first of our four junior tournaments went off great at John's Pond in Mashpee under bright sunny skies. The morning started out a little chilly but as the time went by it got lot warmer. We greeted 14 juniors’ anglers to the first tournament, 5 in the senior age group and 9 in the junior group. Water temp in the high 30's when the junior anglers left the ramp, later in the day temps in them mid 40's. We started to pair up the juniors with their boater at 7:30 for 8:00 clock start with a 1:00 clock weigh in time. It was a tough bite for the kids most of the day but they all said that they had a great day out on the water. I would like to thank All The Boaters That Donated Their Time And Equipment To This Event. ( Alberto, Bourque, Snow, Gaspar, Demoya, Smith, Roberts, Derosier ) At the weigh in as the kids came to the ramp there was a lot of thumbs downs they had a zero day on the water but 4 of the kids did weigh in fish. The Mass Bass Junior Tournaments Will Be Base On A Points System For The Two Events In the Senior Division: Steve Levangie 1st place with 3 fish weighing 3.98 2nd place Jeff Gaspar with 1 fish weight 1.51. In the Junior Division: Brendan Jones caught the biggest fish of the tournament for 1st place win 1 fish weighing in at 6.06 lb largemouth, 2nd Place Richie Vespar 1 fish largemouth weighing 1.91. The First Tournament in the Western Division of next weekend on (Lake Onota) has to be moved due to the lake be still frozen. This Tournament in the travel guide was printed wrong (Connecticut River Oxbow) reverse the dates Erik Kaplan and myself will keep you posted where and when.
